CV Festival 2024

Caribbean Vibrations TV, Canada's longest-running Caribbean TV series, is hosting its first Caribbean Vibrations Festival!

On Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto, we anticipate a crowd exceeding 50,000 people who love the Caribbean, whether they are from the Diaspora, love to travel there or enjoy the excellent food and culture of the Caribbean. There will be over 80 vendors, 20 performers and musicians, food and rum tastings, and the chance to win a trip to the Caribbean.

STAGE IN THE PARK! (10 am – 6 pm)

Let the fete begin! The Stage in the Park will host a full day of entertainment. Steelpan and masqueraders will set the ambience among the attendees. On stage, performances will include dancers, singers, bands, and DJs spinning sweet sounds of the Caribbean. To get your pulse pumping, an uptempo class of Reggaecize will keep the momentum going. During a memorandum presentation, we will commemorate the lives of community stalwarts gone too soon and include mentions of corporate sponsors throughout the day.

LAKESIDE TERRACE (12 pm – 6 pm)

Let’s set the scene. It’s a beautiful sunny day. Feel the ocean breeze brush up on your skin and smell the fragrances brewing in the air. Join us and spend some time on Lakeside Terrace. Sit back, relax, and take in the sights. Four tourism boards will be on hand to share their islands’ eats. Watch as four Caribbean chefs present cooking demos using familiar ingredients and spices from the region. As the aromas waft through the air, enjoy these authentic Caribbean cooking demonstrations from your favourites. *This will be a ticketed event.

CONCERT STAGE (7 pm – 11 pm)
It’s time to leave your inhibitions at the gate. Are you ready to let the riddims lead you to the concert stage? Our musical guests will relish the limelight as attendees sing from the top of their lungs. Two Caribbean acts—a headliner and an opening act—will perform and leave their indelible mark on the inaugural Caribbean Vibrations Festival stage.

What’s a Caribbean festival without a carnival celebration? Let the riddims and brass carry you away to the sun, sand, sea and people of the Caribbean. We’re taking a taste of home and flaunting it with a procession of mas and vibrant colours throughout the park. Display your artistic and creative sides. Bring your feathered wings and sequined suits of yesteryear, or touch down bejewelled. Let’s come together, play mas and revel as one.

One last lap for the road. Carnival is about resilience, but most of all, it’s about joy. Experience jubilance and festivity during our mini carnival. Carnival girls from each Toronto Carnival band will lead a procession around the roundabout, displaying their band creations. Attendees will be encouraged to join in the fun and ‘free up’ to end the festival on a natural high.

LAKESIDE TERRACE (12 pm – 6 pm)

Rum has a long and spirited history locally in the Caribbean and worldwide. On International Rum Day, celebrate its origins, background, and popularity in the spirits industry. You’ll be taken on a journey throughout the islands, paired with culinary combinations that will bring unrivaled joy to your palate. Explore, experiment and enjoy!

On Lakeside Terrace, inhale the aromas and savour the liquors on display. In the spirit of International Rum Day, we’re pairing mouthwatering Caribbean cuisine with flavourful spirits. Our innovative and informative mixologists will create original drinks during our rum tastings while attendees enjoy savoury mini canapes to compliment them. *This will be a ticketed event
