Sorrel is the common name given to the sepals of a hibiscus plant called Roselle.
The bright redbuds are steeped to make “Sorrel” a drink that is always included at any Caribbean Christmas Dinner table. Ms. King takes her grandmother’s Sorrel recipe and concocts one of the best Rum Punches for the season.
