We chatted with Jessye Romeo, the star of the new Global TV Series “Robyn Hood.” It is the story of an aspiring rapper, Robyn Loxley, and her friends become daring outlaws to protect her home and family from the ruthless Sheriff of New Nottingham and the devious developer John Prince.

From prolific Canadian music video director and renowned TV director and filmmaker DirectorX, the eight-episode, one-hour series stars a promising cast including Jessye Romeo, Nykeem Provo, Idrissa Sanogo, Daniela Kharlamova, Jonathan Langdon, Sydney Kuhne, Ian Matthews, Kira Guloien, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, and Lisa Michelle Cornelius.

Jessye Romeo is an actress and writer born and raised in London, England. She gained attention for her lead role in the BAFTA-nominated short Lucky Break, which garnered her Best Actress at the 2020 British Independent Film Festival. A daughter of Antigua and Barbuda, she is a proud Caribbean woman whose culture is represented in all she does. Additional credits include season 2 of Grace for ITV, Graham Broadbent’s film The Beautiful Game, Pennyworth for WBTV / HBOMax and Curfew for SKY, as well as Lucky Man, In The Long Run, Will and Mindhorn opposite Steve Coogan.
